Introducing Birmingham Alabama Chiropractor Dr. Bob Apol

It only took one morning to change my life....

Birmingham Chiropractor, Dr. Bob Apol

One of the jobs I worked while in undergraduate school was building houses.  On the morning my life changed, I was bending over nailing a hip wall and my "back went out".  I was stuck!  And if I tried to move experienced horrible pain.  I went to my chiropractor, and as you would imagine, his understanding of my spine made all the difference in my life.  During one particular visit he asked me why I was considering the route of physical therapy school.  He believed that my experience with gentle, corrective chiropractic care, is what great chiropractors have in common.  He believed once I'd experienced the difference chiropractic made in my life, I too could make that same difference for others.  I took his advice and looked into chiropractic school.  I liked what I saw and became convinced.  I now enjoy giving back to others, what I recieved:  relief and whole-body wellness.

I began my undergraduate studies at Grand Valley State University, majoring in Health Sciences.  I went on to complete my collegiate education at Life Chiropractic University in Marietta, Georgia.

You know, when I began my chiropractic education, I thought chiropractic was all about bones and muscles.  Boy, was I wrong.  I was amazed at the far reaching effects that chiropractic has in a person's ability to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.  This was even more enforced for me in my post-graduate education in Sacro Occipital Therapy.

Chiropractic can mean different things to different people.  Many think of it as merely a treatment for mechanical back pain.  But what most don't realize that it is so much more.  Chiropractic is an important part of a healthy life style.  We offer health care solutions for a broad range of problems through the use of chiropractic adjustments, cranial sacral therapy, organ reflex therapy and whole food nutritional support.  I want my patients to understand that I can not "fix" them, but I am here to help them understand thier bodies and aide in getting thier bodies to work better.  Then they have the responsibility to keep it working better through regular chiropractic adjustments, proper diet, exercise, good stress management skills and the use of whole food supplements.

What about me?  I have three wonderful children, who make my life complete.  I enjoy being active.  I love playing lawn games, table games and video games, especially when I can do them with my kids.  When I have down time, I enjoy taking ballroom dancing lessons and I love to cook.

I have come to realize that most degenerative health problems can be avoided by a healthy lifestyle.  I practice my beliefs.  I engage in weekly chiropractic adjustments and I exercise regularly with various exercise regimes, including: morning yoga, pool pilates, core based weight lifting and walking.  I must admit that my diet isn't always perfect, especially when my kids are around, but I try to stick to lots of protein, vegetables and avoid unhealthy fats.  Whole Food supplements are an essential part of my arsenal and are what you find in my medicine chest.  There are natural alternative to most, if not all pharmaceuticals.

I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call or email me with the link below so we can arrange a time to explore your options.  Thanks for visiting our site.

Dr. Bob Asks some important questions of interest to Birmingham residents - Chiropractor Birmingham Dr. Bob Asks...

What can a chiropractor do for asthma?
Many people think of chiropractic as exclusively dealing with the spine. But I'm interested in the spine because it covers the nervous system. Problems in the spine can produce problems in the organs and tissues controlled by the affected nerves—including those to the lungs and bronchial tubes. Find out how chiropractic care has helped those with asthma.
Would you rather feel good or be healthy?
Ask most people in Birmingham and they want to feel good. Careful! Would you take medicine that makes you feel good, rather than vomit to expel improperly prepared food? Every chiropractic patient knows that you can't measure your health by how you feel. True health is when your body works as it should.
